I am posting this on behalf of Leemo who posed as "Kazimierz Nowak" a couple of weeks ago in an attempt to take ownership of Kintsugi's sudo key: https://kintsugi.subsquare.io/democracy/referenda/149
User kkalii
first noticed that the referendum contained a sudo.setkey
call and alerted the community.
Bitcoin_Army
then amplified the message and rallied Interlay team members and the community so that it was rejected. And thanks to founder Dom who quickly engaged the Technical Committee to prepare and fast-track a new referendum that cancelled the malicious referendum.
Leemo suggested that Bitcoin_Army should be tipped, and tried to post this referendum, but had issues with his balance. https://kintsugi.subscan.io/extrinsic/7036937-2 - system remark stating that Bitcoin_Army should be tipped
This is a tip of 86.2k INTR (~$500) each to kkalii and Bitcoin_Army for reviewing governance referenda, identifying this issue, and engaging the community to make the right decision to strike down the malicious referendum. It is hoped that this encourages other community members to pay attention to governance as well.

note: I have no affiliation with kkalii or Bitcoin_Army (not tipping friends). I'm simply supporting community governance proposal requests.
Sorry, but they should receive KINT as it was a KINT attack. Besides I wonder how many users of Kintsugy are there and how long the team will keep the blockchain alive. It was a matter of time that a such malicious attack happens. But thank you for the work for the community.
